Display: DNA - Disability Neurodivergence Action
Disability and Neurodivergence Action are a support and advocacy group for employees of Stroud District Council. DNA provides peer-to-peer support and works to change the narrative around disability, life-long conditions and neurodivergence.
The objects in this display give an insight into the lives of some members of DNA. They reflect experiences of rheumatoid arthritis, cerebral palsy, autism and ADHD.
“By sharing stories of our experiences we hope to raise awareness of the challenges and celebrate the qualities of the members of our community.”
On display in The Space, first floor. Free but donations welcome.
Can you help us? Do you have stories relating to disability or neurodivergence that you would like to be represented in the museum? Do you have objects that you feel would tell a story of your experiences, or those of your family and friends in the past? If the answer is yes and you live (or lived) in the Stroud District, please get in touch.
