Ivanna left Kyiv when the first Russian bombs fell on the city in February 2022. With her mother, Maryna and brother, Oleksa she arrived in Avening, Gloucestershire in May 2022. They left Ivanna’s dad behind to continue his work as an investigative journalist.

Ivanna didn't bring much with her - a bear, some books and this party dress, brought in Lviv the previous year. The dress is made in Ukraine, a modern version of the country's traditional embroidery, vyshyvanka.

Ivanna’s dress is on show as part of Home From Home: Our Migration Stories. You can see the full display on the First Floor in the At Home gallery, room 11.
