Exhibition: Print in The Park
Print in the Park is an exhibition of GPC Members’ work that responds to the Museum collections and surroundings.
To celebrate 20 Years of the Gloucestershire Printmaking Coop, and 25 years of the Museum in the Park, nearly 40 of the Coop’s members have been making prints that evolve from looking at the collections in the museum or have taken inspiration from its incredible grounds and surrounding arboretum.
Come and enjoy the resulting range of screen prints, etchings, wood engraving, collagraphs, lino cuts, woodcut and multidisciplinary print works. Do venture into the Museum too and see if you can find the details and artefacts which inspired the artists - for example collector’s drawers full of beautiful butterflies and moths, a tiny fan which is usually overlooked, a collection of stone mason’s tools, paintings showing Ebley Mill or the mighty River Severn and much, much more. And of course, enjoy the Walled Garden which continues to inspire so many artists and visitors.
Prints are available to buy or order - a chance to snap up an affordable work of art and support the Museum and our local artists.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a Spring Print Fair on the 18 & 19 April - with well over 20 different stallholders, from both the GPC Membership and Printmakers from farther afield.
There will also be a number of bookable Printmaking Workshops during the exhibition including a drop in Zine Workshops for children.
