Display: Prince Albert Carol Consort

  • The Museum in the Park Stratford Park, Stratford Road Stroud, Gloucestershire, England, GL5 4AF United Kingdom (map)

The Prince Albert Carol Consort (PACC) marks its 25th anniversary in 2025. This growing community of singers meets annually in December to sing carols at the Prince Albert public house in Rodborough.

The carols are not the usual ones sung at Christmas - they are part of a living folk tradition found in several parts of England, sung  in four part harmony during the 18th and 19th centuries, when village bands provided the music in the churches.

The PACC meets on Sunday lunchtimes in December, and all are welcome to sing.

To mark its 25th anniversary, this small retrospective display explores what makes the events special and why the seasonal sessions have endured.
