There’s something special coming to our community…
Illustrator Rachel Oldfield has created a beautiful new series of Risograph prints, each one inspired by a simple but powerful set of questions:
What has meaning for you? What do you love? What brings you joy?
Working closely with local people, Rachel has transformed their answers into intimate, single-image narratives, quiet visual reminders of the things that matter most. Each print holds a personal story, capturing moments of connection, comfort, memory, and delight.
Printed using a limited colour palette on the Risograph, the collection carries Rachel’s signature fluid drawing style, gently influenced by nature and folk art. The result is a series that feels both deeply personal and warmly universal.
This exhibition is an invitation to slow down, to reflect, and maybe even to rediscover what brings you joy.
Rachel Oldfield is a local illustrator and illustration lecturer at Birmingham City University. She has illustrated multiple children’s books and, since completing her MA in Illustration at the University of Gloucestershire, primarily works with brush pen and risograph printing.
