Wellbeing & Creativity at The Museum in the Park

With its beautiful walled garden, changing art gallery exhibitions and fascinating local history displays, the Museum offers something for everyone, whether you are visiting alone or with family or friends. The surrounding parkland, with its stunning specimen trees, woodland and green fields is an uplifting place for walking in the fresh air giving you space to breathe and unwind. Many local residents enjoy their daily health stroll here and call in for a cup of tea, coffee or an ice cream.

This unique setting makes a safe, accessible and welcoming venue for a variety of health and wellbeing classes and activities. We work in collaboration with organisations such as Artlift and Artshape to offer ‘arts on prescription’ classes and are a base for Gentle Park Walks for those living with dementia and their carers.

See below for an outline of current activities (these usually take a break during school holidays):

Tuesday Mornings: Yoga in the Walled Garden Pavilion

Tuesday Afternoons: Artlift - Drawing on Photography

Wednesday Mornings: Harmony Singing for Wellbeing

Wednesday Mornings: Stroud Valleys Project Carers in Nature

Fridays (2nd & 4th of the month): Gentle Park Walks run by Fair Shares, for those living with dementia & their carers.

We also run Art for Wellbeing courses inspired by the Museum Collections and are a base for The Place Outside’s innovative ‘Naturewell’ outdoor sessions.
