Have you spotted the haunting ‘Mourning Doll’ upstairs in the Museum? Perhaps you’ve heard about our fundraising appeal to purchase the ‘Painswick Mourning Ring’? Across different cultures, times and places, people have commemorated the dead in many different ways. In this friendly drop in workshop you are invited to make your own ‘peg doll’ in memory of a lost loved one, perhaps a relative or friend, or a favourite family pet. If you like, bring some fabric scraps/ribbon/lace/ a photograph with you.

For ages 5+, designed for children and their parents/grandparents to enjoy together.

Cost: suggested donation £1 per child (extra donations welcome towards the Painswick Mourning Ring appeal)
