The Space is the Museum’s new community display area. This quarter we are featuring a display of metal detecting finds from a local detectorist. The majority of the finds date from the early-mediaeval period, and we are particularly excited to be able to show this collection as this era is under-represented in our own collections – we have just a handful of Saxon objects and no Viking material at all. The star objects include a Roman Legionary’s frying pan (pictured).
