Take time out to relax and enjoy playing with colour and pattern in this creative day class with textile artist and Gloucestershire Guild member Francesca Chalk. This collage workshop was inspired by the 'paper-mosaicks' of (massively under-appreciated!) Mrs Delaney.

We will be using coloured papers from old newsprint and catalogues and maybe painting our own, to represent the foliage and flowers or seed heads we find in the Walled Garden. We will be working directly with scissors and glue, deliberately avoiding pencil and paper. The aim is to encourage looking at the plants as blocks of colour, shadow and shape rather than outlines and 3D. 

This workshop is for adults and ages 16+, all abilities welcome. Wrap up in warm layers as we’ll open the doors for good ventilation and will be spending some time outside looking at the garden. Tea and coffee included, but please bring a picnic lunch.
