Film Screening: Life Through A Lens

Director Jason Figgis’ Response to the remarkable photography of Shirley Baker. This documentary screening in Stroud coincides with a major exhibition of Shirley Baker’s work on show at the Museum in the Park for the whole of March. Screening the film in the Museum will hopefully encourage audience members to visit the exhibition of Shirley’s photographs of 1960s Northern England. Shirley Baker wrote about her work in a particularly open and insightful way and her writing is given voice in ” by her daughter, Nan, who has also been kind enough to release some very important 20th Century photographs from the Shirley Baker archive to show in Stroud.
