A Pioneering Enterprise - The Giant Snowdrop Company at Hyde

Snowdrops – known botanically as Galanthus – came of horticultural age between 1854–2014. This talk by Jane Kilpatrick and Jennifer Harmer is based on a new book ‘ The Galanthophiles’, and focuses on The Giant Snowdrop Company of Hyde and the story of the people who sought out, cherished, and shared these deceptively fragile white flowers. Keep an eye on the Walled Garden during January and February and watch as some special, and very beautiful, varieties emerge.
