Pop in and have a go at making a simple mono print inspired by the Museum or Garden and the Print in the Park exhibition. This drop in workshop is for families with children aged 5+ and takes place in the Meeting Room next to the Art Gallery.

Warning: it may be messy so wear old clothes!

Join the Zine Team with Philippa C Thomas & Hector MacInnes from GPC!

Come along and work together on a huge collective zine about the Museum. Philippa and Hector will show you how to use accessible and quick techniques like monoprint, letterpress, rubber stamp making and collage. Drop in whenever you want to make your mark - and come back at the end of the day if you can to see the finished zine.

For ages 6+. Bring a grown up with you.

Cost: £2 per child, pay on the door.

Springtime Relaxed Session

This is a pre-bookable session is designed for families with neurodivergent children who need a relaxed environment to enjoy these activities. We ask other visitors to please understand that tickets for this session are reserved for families with children with this need.

Join us for a range of fun activities to celebrate Spring and Easter. Make a colourful Easter egg suncatcher to take home with you and perhaps add a paper chick to our Easter garland. Children can explore our Springtime sensory exploration tray and or wash the muddy farm animal toys. Join in our big art by printing some blossom on our painted trees, and make a mini woolly lamb.

All activities are optional, and we will support families taking part in the activities as much or as little as they choose.

The session will run between 2pm and 3pm in the Pavilion at Museum in the Park.

To support a relaxed environment, there are 12 child tickets available to pre-book. Children must be accompanied, although accompanying adults do not need to book a ticket. Cost £1 per child.

Always available at reception, these are a great way for families to enjoy discovering the collections together, and you’ll learn about Stroud District’s fascinating history along the way. From fossils and dinosaur bones to childhood toys of the past, there’s always something ‘new’ (or very old!) to see.

We are trialling pre-bookable sessions aimed at families with neurodivergent children who need a relaxed environment to enjoy these activities.

 Make a chicken or duck headband to wear and wash the muddy farm animal toys. Explore some seeds and try painting with toy tractors. Match the tails to the farm animals and build a barn for some toy animals. Create a paper fruit or vegetable to our wheelbarrow and tell us your favourite farm animal. We invite you to discover and explore together through this range of family-friendly activities designed to help bring the theme of farmyards alive.

Add a prehistoric marine creature to our seascape and tell us what your favourite dinosaur is before exploring the museum to see the fossils of dinosaurs. We invite you to discover and explore together through this range of family-friendly activities designed to help bring the theme of dinosaurs alive.

Come and meet Stroud Buzz Club in the Garden Pavilion and find out what’s happening in the Walled Garden and wider park - see what’s blooming or buzzing, and enjoy signs of Spring! This time, we’ll meet Ron Rock from the Bumblebee Conservation Society and learn about the solitary Red Mason Bee. We may even make a bee hotel!
