Drop in and have a chat with the artists of the Women’s Art Activation System about their latest project. Here is what they have to say about it:
“What are the hidden stories of birth, reproduction and childcare in the Stroud District?
How do we gather them and make history?
In 2022, The WAAS Baby Makers group created a new piece of collective artwork for the Museum in the Park to share maternal histories. Some of the stories were shared on BBC Radio Gloucestershire, and the collective bunting artwork is now part of the Museum collection.
We are now looking for community partners to work with us and the Museum, on building a bigger reproductive histories project in Stroud. This is an innovative and much-needed activity to address historic gender imbalances in the telling of who we are and what matters to us.
Drop by and say hello, find out more, and get involved in our plans!”
