Echoes in Enamel was an Arts Council funded collaborative project between the Museum in the Park and Gloucestershire artist Sue Brown. It sought to reinterpret World War One stories and artefacts across the commemoration period from 2014 to 2018.
The original project involved Sue delving deep into the Museum's collections. Looking at artefacts and responding to stories, she created one new installation in print and enamel each year, which enabled museum visitors to connect with the quirky, personal and often tragic stories of local men and women during the First World War.
This year, for the 100th anniversary of the first Remembrance Sunday, we bring together elements from each phase of Sue’s work to provide a retrospective of this artist’s residency.
