Come and get practical tips and advice on how to repair your clothes or textiles, and upcycling inspiration to help prevent textiles from going to landfill and help make our community a little more sustainable. Or bring your own sewing or craft project and enjoy meeting people and sharing ideas. With volunteers from Transition Stroud Textiles Group, this special pop up event accompanies the UNmaking exhibition. A free community drop-in event, everyone welcome.

If you have a specific textile or clothing repair you’d like help with, please email Transition Stroud so they can make sure they bring the right tools and materials with them on the day. If you need a zip replacement, please bring the new zip with you. You’ll be encouraged to carry out the repair yourself with expert guidance making this a friendly and useful learning experience.

In the Museum itself you can find wonderful examples of reuse and repair from the past - for example a pair of carefully darned woollen socks in our farming display room.
