To celebrate International Women’s Day on Friday 8th March, a new display in the Collectors Room tells the story of a pioneering woman.
Dame Margaret Weston grew up in Oakridge, became a Chartered Electrical Engineer at 28 and Director of the Science Museum at 47. She was the first woman to be a director of any national museum.
In her retirement she supported the setting up of the Museum in the Park and the establishment of the Walled Garden.
Free to enter, although donations welcome.
