A rare chance to drop in and meet one of the UK’s leading wood engravers. Hilary Paynter was a key figure in the rejuvenation of the Society of Wood Engravers in the 1980s and is one of exhibiting artists in the current show. Her subject matters include epic landscapes and heroic structures along with challenging socio-political themes. She is represented in many public collections, such as the V&A (London), the Ashmolean (Oxford), the Fitzwilliam Museum (Cambridge) and the Central Academy of Fine Arts (Beijing). Hilary will be in the art gallery between 11am and 2pm. Free drop in event, donations welcome, prints for sale.
