Twenty Years is an interactive installation touring UK arts venues. The project is shaped by the participants who interact with it. In each location, visitors like you, are invited to contribute to the project. All contributions help the project mission – to build a permanent archive of ideas and thoughts about how the future is envisaged, dreamed of and hoped for. What has led us to where we are and what do our communities and society hope will happen next?
Twenty Years was first exhibited at Aspex Gallery, Portsmouth in 2019. The installation was presented at Southampton City Art Gallery and The Old Fire Station, Oxford in 2021 and in 2022 the project is being exhibited at the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum, Coventry and the Museum in the Park, Stroud.
Bennett & McDermott are grateful to Arts Council England and the National Lottery for funding this tour of Twenty Years.
The focus of Bennett & McDermott’s collaborative art practice is to produce contemporary art that is accessible, engaging, and promotes the values of generosity, community and creativity. Bennett & McDermott are based in Stroud, Gloucestershire where they live with their two young daughters.
