A celebration of 5 years of natural beauty in the Museum’s Walled Garden.
Ruth Illingworth, artist and garden volunteer, has been making colour from the plants in the garden and the surrounding area. This exhibition in the Garden Pavilion includes natural ink paintings of the garden and its plants, dyed and eco-dyed fabric and paper, and work using leaves from the trees in the surrounding Stratford Park. It also includes books inspired by the Walled Garden by members of Stroud Artist Book Group and paintings by artists Lucy Guenot and Emily Lucas. Ruth will be in residence on both weekends, do call in and meet her!
Please note the exhibition will be closed on Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 October when Stroudwater Textile Trust will be running dye workshops for children.
On Thursday 28 October, Ruth will be running a drop in book making workshop for adults and for children age 7+. Call in between 10.30am and 12.30pm or 2m - 4pm and enjoy having a go!
You can also book a place on a Stratford Park Tree Walk with Walking the Land artists, 2pm on Friday 29 October.
