Grand/Parent & Child Art Workshop with Alison Cockcroft: 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful'

  • The Museum in the Park Stratford Park, Stratford Road Stroud, England, GL5 4AF United Kingdom (map)

Come and spend some special creative time with your child or grandchild in the Walled Garden Pavilion enjoying a gently paced art workshop guided by artist Alison Cockcroft.

Take some time out to explore, dream and create.

Drawing inspiration from the exhibition by Jon Buck we will think about biodiversity, wondering, as Darwin did how “endless forms so beautiful” could emerge through evolution. We will make forays into the Museum’s geology and collectors’ rooms and the beautiful Walled Garden to observe and collect ideas and develop these into a printed design. Techniques will include drawing, mono and block printing and stencilling. There will be plenty of materials for adults to join in alongside the children should they wish to.

Alison Cockcroft is a local artist whose practise encompasses drawing, sculpture and participatory creative events for communities. She’s often run popular workshops at the Museum, both indoors and out, and was an Artist in Residence in the Walled Garden when it was still an abandoned, overgrown wasteland. We’re delighted to welcome her back.

Workshop price: £10 (price is for one adult and one child aged 7+).

Booking necessary. Book online here. Or call us on 01453 763394

Workshop takes place in the light and airy Garden Pavilion, we’ll be keeping the doors wide open for fresh air and good ventilation.
