Montbretia with Orange by Terence Millington

Terence Millington

Etchings, Lithographs and Paintings

Exhibited from Sunday 7 June - Sunday 12 July, 2015

This exhibition covers the entire career of painter and printmaker Terence Millington. It includes some rare copies from the artist’s earliest published editions, through to examples of his most recent work. It also charts his development of multiple plate etching, for which he is now a highly regarded exponent.

Born in 1942, Terence began his artistic training at Moseley Secondary Art School, aged thirteen. Further years of study at Birmingham and Manchester Colleges of Art, laid the foundations for a professional career spanning five decades.

His early monochromatic etchings established a wide range of subject matter and on-going themes, including still life, landscape, architectural façades and animal studies. His work is always based on sound draughtsmanship, closely observed and often combined with a good measure of wit and invention.

Terence Millington will be available to meet visitors to the exhibition on Saturdays and Wednesdays between 2pm and  4pm.
