Friends Bake Sale

Sunday 12 February | 11:30am - 3:30pm

Come along to the Museum today, meet members of the Museum Friends and enjoy homemade cakes and coffee in Gallery Two, where the Friends will be running a pop up cafe to raise much-needed funds for the Museum. You can also watch a rolling slideshow of images of old Stroud from the Wilf Merrett postcard collection.

Lecture with Tony Conder: Canals and Landscape Painting

Saturday 25 February| 2pm | £7.50/£5 Friends

A lovely way to spend a wintery Saturday afternoon. Join the Friends of the Museum for this fascinating lecture.

Guided Tour of the Snowdrop Garden at Colesbourne Park

Monday 27 February | 2pm | £15

We are very pleased that we have been able to arrange a private tour of the rare snowdrops at Colesbourne Park, guided by Sir Henry Elwes and the Head Gardener.

The tour starts with a short presentation on the history of the park and the Elwes family, then a walk through the gardens to see the snowdrops and the wooded areas of the park with its masses of hellebores and flowering shrubs. The tour ends with afternoon tea.

Lecture with Sir Henry Elwes: Snowdrops at Colesbourne Park

Saturday 1 April | 2pm | £7.50/£5 Friends

Sir Henry will talk about the renowned snowdrop collection at Colesbourne Park which was started by his great grandfather, Henry John Elwes (1846-1922), a traveller-naturalist who introduced many plants to cultivation.
